Intuitive Massage, Yoga, Breathwork
About my Massage and Energy Work Techniques
I was trained in Israel, at Masters College, in the year 2000. I was introduced to just about every massage modality there when I was in school. Later, I have studied Chakra Therapy with Anodea Judith, Craniosacral Therapy with Upledger Institute, Reflexology with Jackie Cave and Reiki. I have, also, been practicing yoga and meditation for more than twenty years. These practices helped me to refine my intuitive abilities, which are the base for delivering amazing energy work into each and every massage session.
Over more than fifteen years of continuous practice, intuitively combining technical skills of massage with energy work, my bodywork sessions have developed into a flow, a dance, an art form, that communicates with the whole person, engaging all levels of one’s being in this healing experience. Below is the description of the types of bodywork I offer, and, while these offerings will be the base line of our work together, many other healing modalities might be incorporated into each single custom-tailored session, depending on the intention and on what presents itself. Also, if desired, volcanic hot stones, hot towels and pure essential oils can be incorporated into the sessions.
Mahaya Signature Massage - 60 or 90 min session
Drawing on the elements of Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Myofascial Release and Acupressure, this type of bodywork is tailored to each individual’s needs. The movements are slow and purposeful, with the goal of inducing a deep state of relaxation, while addressing each issue that is important to you.
Intuitively listening and learning how your body responds to the touch, I slowly work into the muscle layers, always warming up and smoothing out any deep work. By holding and waiting, I support the fascia to release naturally on its own. This, in combination with gentle rocking motions, trigger points release and arm and leg extensions, will facilitate deep relaxation, loosen your tight muscles, and bring relief to your chronic aches and pains. The end of the session incorporates Indian Head Massage, probably the best head massage you have ever had.
Body and Spirit Massage - 90 or 120 min session
Body and Spirit Massage is a creative combination of Mahaya Signature Massage, Craniosacral Therapy and an amazing energy work and focuses on integration of mind, body and spirit. The body is worked as a whole. Not only is a physical connection made, but an energetic connection between therapist and client and often a spiritual connection between a client and their own inner Self.
Pure essential oils, deep tissue techniques and intuitive energy work are incorporated into the continuous flow of this massage to relax your body and calm the mind, leading to a profoundly peaceful state of expanded awareness and of mental clarity.
With emphasis on nurturing and empathy, Body and Spirit Massage will gently guide you to your own inner healing, facilitating emotional release and an enhanced sense of strength and vitality. Feel the healing mechanisms of the body begin to emerge, as you find the deepest levels of relaxation, harmony and inner peace.
Thai Massage - 60 or 90 minutes
Thai Massage is designed specifically to speed up recovery from intense workouts or injuries, increase your mobility and facilitate your body’s optimal performance. This type of massage is excellent for athletes. It is more energizing and rigorous than more classic forms of massage, and it is also called Thai yoga massage, because the therapist uses his or her hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like stretches. It is like doing yoga without any work. The massage is performed on a padded mat on the floor, while you are fully dressed in loose comfortable clothing.
Indian Head, Hand and Foot Massage - 60 or 90 minutes
Indian Head, Hand and Foot Massage is a very grounding, balancing and restorative type of bodywork. The whole session is done while you are lying on a massage table facing up. At your choice, you can be either fully clothed or undressed down to your waist and covered with a blanket.
The session starts by using firm and gentle rhythmic movements to clear years of built-up tension in the head, neck, shoulders and arms. This rather vigorous part of the session is followed by soothing pressure point work on your head, hands and feet with the goal of stimulating nerve endings in those areas to release energy, relax muscles and encourage the body to naturally restore its own healthy balance.
Foot Reflexology - 60 or 90 minutes
Reflexology is a natural healing art, based on the principal that there are reflexes on the head, hands and feet that directly correspond with glands, organs and parts of the body. During the treatment, I use my thumb and fingers to stimulate reflex areas on your feet to trigger physiological changes that empower your body to heal itself.
Working on many levels, it is a deeply relaxing therapy that stimulates the circulatory and lymphatic systems, encouraging your body to release toxins and improving your immune system.
If desired, Reiki can be incorporated into the session to cleanse and balance your energy centers, known as chakras, all while re-aligning you to your true authentic Self.
Reiki - 60 minutes
Reiki is an ancient technique that increases the life force energy in the body. This life force energy, or Ki, is universal and is in and around the body. As a Reiki practitioner I let this energy channel through my body and my hands into that of the person receiving the treatment. The energy will intuitively go where it is the most needed. This transferring or moving of energy, increases the clients Ki or life force energy. The client’s muscles relax and blood flow increase in the areas being treated and this is what supports the healing process. Whether it be physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.
Craniosacral Therapy - 60 minutes
Craniosacral Therapy is as system of listening and supporting the natural bodyś mechanisms to heal. It is very soothing to the nervous system and creates a profound sense of relaxation. It also works with the membranes, and helps the circulation of the cerebrospinal fluid that protects and nourishes the brain and spinal cord. Performed on a massage table, the client is fully clothed and the touch is generally light and still. By quietly resting the hands on your skull and sacrum, I will evaluate your craniosacral rhythms. Then, I will use the bones of the sacrum and cranium as “handles” to manipulate the deeper layers of fluid and membranes. The work is performed with such gentleness that the body itself can do the healing and necessary adjustments. A session can be described as a physically connected meditation, in which hidden information in the craniosacral system reveals itself.
